Pacific South Ring (APS)

Pacific South Ring (APS)

The Pacific South Ring (APS) is the first fully integrated electric power transmission project in Guatemala to reach 100% commercial operation. Its design, construction, and energization were carried out as a self-initiated project, approved by the National Electric Energy Commission (CNEE). The APS is part of the Transmission System Expansion Plan 2012–2021, representing a major milestone in the development of the national electric grid. Status: In commercial operation since 2018.

Interfaz substation

The Interfaz Substation (230/34.5 kV) is the first project in the system where high-voltage transmission is directly integrated with transformation for end-user delivery. This initiative makes optimal use of the existing infrastructure of the National Interconnected System (SNI), delivering tangible improvements in electric service quality, especially in terms of voltage stability and reduced service interruptions.
Status: In commercial operation since 2023
