Multi-stage Reactive Compensation Equipment

Multi-stage Reactive Compensation Equipment

These systems were identified as part of the effort to expand electric transmission capacity, with the goal of mitigating network constraints and providing greater operational flexibility to the Wholesale Market Administrator (AMM). Their integration directly contributes to enhancing the efficiency and stability of the national power system. Status: In commercial operation since 2022.

This state-of-the-art equipment is the first of its kind in Guatemala and is operating in the Chiantla and Covadonga substations, located in the western side of the country.
